Mobile Fun opens second office in Birmingham

ONLINE retailer Mobile Fun has opened a second Birmingham office and says its new base will act as the international hub for its expanding overseas business.

Some 15 employees will initially work from the office, which is based at Ashted Lock in Birmingham Science Park Aston. They will be joined by new team members as Mobile Fun continues its recruitment drive.

The new office is close to the firm’s existing base on Phoenix Business Park, Aston.

The international team is responsible for Mobile Fun’s expanding portfolio of country websites. Complementing in-country offices, the Birmingham-based team will provide customer service and translation across 11 different languages.

Mobile Fun, which sells mobile device accessories, has recently boosted its multi-lingual capability, by hiring native-speakers to service Polish, Japanese and Russian customers.

Managing director Mohammed Hussain said: “The opening of our second office in Birmingham is a major step in our rapid expansion. We are entering an exciting phase as our newly established international websites are performing strongly, and the expanding team will strengthen our international footprint further.”

The Mobile Fun team currently stands at 85 employees. The firm now has websites in more than 30 countries, offices in six countries and close to 50% of total orders are generated by its international websites.

The firm has experienced its best year to date. The company announced record turnover and profits for its financial year ending 31 March 2013, with sales of £11.5m.
