Business Secretary to promote Worcestershire at MIPIM UK

BUSINESS Secretary Sajid Javid will be the guest speaker at a conference promoting inward investment in Worcestershire.

The Minister has a vested interest in seeing the county prosper as he also represents the constituency of Bromsgrove.

Representatives of the county’s business community, local enterprise partnership and county council are represented at the MIPIM UK event, which is taking place at Olympia in London.

The delegates have a stand at the exhibition entitled World Class Worcestershire, which is promoting how the county has become the third fastest rural economy in recent years.

The delegation said the backing of Sajid Javid would help to bolster Worcestershire’s capabilities as a development hotspot and prove a lure to potential investors.

Case studies that will be referenced include the current development of Worcester Six Business Park. Under development by Stofords, the site has been named as the best undeveloped site between Worcester and Bristol.

Gary Woodman, Executive Director at Worcestershire LEP, said: “MIPIM UK provides the ideal opportunity to promote Worcestershire as being the perfect place to invest. We are pleased that Sajid Javid will be joining us in promoting Worcestershire’s world class offer of business location, infrastructure and quality of life to investors.”

Cllr Simon Geraghty, cabinet member for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure, said: “Worcestershire is a great location for business as it is well connected with a skilled labour supply and has key sites ready for development. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase what Worcestershire has to offer on the national and international stage and to have the Secretary of State championing the cause.”

To help promote Worcestershire, the stand will have its very own Morgan sports car; manufactured in Malvern.
