Warwickshire hotel set for major makeover after £1m deal

A WARWICKSHIRE hotel is to undergo a major refurbishment after its new owners secured a seven figure funding deal.
Brownsover Hall Hotel, near Rugby, has been acquired by Buckleberry Hotels and it will undergo full restoration works after the operator was backed by a £1m financial package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Buckleberry aims to restore the Grade II listed Victorian Gothic mansion to its former glory.
The hotel’s management team is also preparing a planning application to expand the property, helping to increase its capacity and ultimately add to its 62-strong team of employees.
The investment in the Brownsover Hall Hotel comes as Buckleberry looks to increase its presence across the Midlands, with plans in place to acquire more properties and enlarge its portfolio.
Nestled within seven acres of woodland and garden, the 47-bedroom Brownsover Hall Hotel is well regarded for its dramatic surroundings, making it a popular destination for weddings and conferences.
Pradeepto Biswas, director at Buckleberry Hotel, said: “Brownsover Hall Hotel is a stunning building in a great location, and we’re excited about the opportunities open to us following the acquisition of the property.
“Lloyds Bank’s support has been invaluable in aiding our purchase of the hotel, which is enabling us to undertake work to restore the building to its former glory, and ultimately pave the way for us to grow the business in the future.”
Martin Crossley, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “This hotel is a much loved landmark in Rugby and the surrounding area, and Buckleberry Hotels Limited has developed an impressive growth plan which revolves around the preservation of this historically significant location.
“We’re pleased to work with the management team on this exciting project, and we’ll continue to work with the business to enable it to grow its footprint across the Midlands.”
