£4.5m contract awarded to build speculative development

KIER CONSTRUCTION has been appointed to a £4.5m contract to deliver the 115,185 sq ft speculative development at Stafford’s Redhill Business Park.

The project is being led by Trebor Developments, alongside its funding partner Rockspring Property Investment Managers.

The 115,185 sq ft speculative industrial development is located close to junction 14 of the M6 motorway and is a response to “increasing demand” within the market for large units.

Construction is scheduled to begin next month with completion expected by December.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor Developments, said: “The appointment of Kier Construction is an important milestone in delivering this high quality, large industrial unit.

“The development is being implemented on a fast track basis to meet increasing demand from occupiers for large accommodation, which is not being developed across Staffordshire or the wider West Midlands.”

Staffordshire’s economy leader Mark Winnington added: “Redhill is one of our key business development sites which is nearing full occupancy.

Redhill is really going from strength to strength with ongoing development on other plots.  Its success is good news for Staffordshire and brings added confidence to potential investors. It is also further testament to our hard work and demonstrates the commitment of our business partners.”

The development is being jointly marketed on behalf of Trebor Developments and Rockspring Property Investment Managers by Avison Young and Jones Lang LaSalle.
