Apollo set for lift-off at Advanced Manufacturing Hub

TREBOR Developments and investment partner Aviva Investors have obtained planning consent for a 94,500 sq ft speculative industrial development in Birmingham.

The facility is being developed at the Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Aston to meet the city’s growing demand for high quality manufacturing space. Trebor has said it is already in talks with potential occupiers.

The development partners were appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Birmingham City Council to bring forward the scheme, dubbed Apollo.

To coincide with the granting of planning permission, the development partners have appointed A & H Construction as main contractor for the project.

Work is due to start on site next month with a view to completion in February.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor Developments, said: “This is the next significant step forward in the fast track implementation of this major, speculative, industrial facility.

“It will provide much needed quality manufacturing accommodation close to Birmingham city centre.  Marketing of the scheme has commenced and we are already in early discussions with several parties.”

The Advanced Manufacturing Hub has already attracted two significant businesses – Hydraforce, which has moved into a 125,000 sq ft unit and German toolmaker Guhring.

Trebor said the latest scheme would underline the hub’s reputation as a centre for high value manufacturing.
