Healthcare group expands to take over two floors of city office block

A Birmingham healthcare group has expanded its presence in the city for the second time in 12 months.

Alliance Health Group has taken on extra space within 54 Hagley Road, Edgbaston.

The expansion sees the group occupy the entire 10th and 11th floors of the Grade A office complex, after it agreed a new five-year lease for an extra 2,223 sq ft of space in the east wing.

Ann Copsey, CEO of Alliance Health Group, said: “(The) group is experiencing an exceptional period of growth, and we were delighted to be able to expand the business further at 54 Hagley Road.”

The company’s expansion comes at the same time as private pension provider Smiths Pensions has further committed to the building by renewing its tenancy for 1,470 sq ft on the 13th floor.

George Jennings, of GVA, joint agent for 54 Hagley Road, said: “Alliance Health Group’s expansion is great news for Edgbaston’s office market and it is great to see another company keen to remain here. It speaks volumes for the package the building offers.”

Despite being close to the main city centre, the building’s rents are much lower than competing facilities in the heart of the business quarter such as Colmore Row or Snow Hill.

It has also undergone a £100,000 facelift with the addition of new facilities including a coffee shop and upgraded reception area.

The office is also expected to be a popular location in years to come as a Metro stop is due to be located outside the building, while it is also opposite the proposed £300m New Garden Square gateway scheme put forward by Calthorpe Estates.
