Pre-pack administration saves jobs at textile supplier

33 JOBS have been saved after a textiles business was bought out of administration.
Smith Harrison Shade Cards supplied thread cards for the textile industry. It expanded into the carpet and soft furnishings trade.
It had been trading since 1961.
After installing new equipment in 2015, the business encountered “significant” and costly production difficulties. This led to cash flow issues.
On 8 January, David Wilson of DFW Associates was appointed as administrator of the business.
Mr Wilson negotiated the sale of the business to Smith Harrison Sampling, which was set up to buy the business.
All 33 jobs at the business were saved, and the company can continue trading.
