Property firm to capitalise on Government’s housebuilding agenda

Property advisory firm GVA has expanded its Yorkshire offering with the launch of a division which aims to capitalise on the Government’s plans to accelerate house building.
The land and development arm is being led by GVA’s residential land expert, Dai Powell, who moves from the planning, development and regeneration team to take on the role.
The team will focus on residential land agency, feasibility and consultancy to help their clients gain maximum value and returns from their land holdings.
The launch comes as the Government commits to releasing hundreds of acres of public sector land to deliver new homes and boost local economic growth. GVA believes that its current position on several key framework contracts will be key in helping to facilitate this.
Powell said: “Establishing a dedicated land and development division is the next step in cementing GVA’s position as the go-to property advisory firm in the region and opens new opportunities for further growth as home building becomes more important on the Government’s agenda.
“We are already working with a host of private and public sector landowners in this capacity, on land at various stages in the development pipeline with the potential to deliver over 2,500 new homes across Yorkshire in the immediate future. Having a dedicated team will allow us take on more of this type of work.”
The team will also be targeting and facilitating the development of key city centre sites for mixed-use and the private-rented sector.
