UK trade union set for move to South Yorkshire business park

Meadowhall Business Park in Sheffield is set to welcome a second trade union.

Trade union Community has acquired 7,500 sq ft at ARBA Group’s recently refurbished multi-million pound business park.

Community represents workers across general sectors including manufacturing, clothing, textiles and footwear, road transport, betting and gaming, call centres, voluntary organisations, community-care providers and housing associations.

The acquisition will allow the union to relocate its regional function from Phoenix House on Flash Lane in Rotherham.

Community joins GMB Union, which moved its operations to a new conference and learning hub at Meadowhall Business Park in May last year.

Richard Burns, director at ARBA Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome another major trade union as Community relocates to Meadowhall Business Park. The acquisition confirms the union’s commitment to the region and its workers, but also bolsters the profile of the park by complementing a broad spread of businesses.

“The location of the park means it is ideally situated for Community’s members and staff across the South Yorkshire and Yorkshire region to access the new offices.”

Other tenants at the 70,000 sq ft business park include CapGemini, Tuffnells, NG Bailey, Auburn Ainsley Limited, Chique Photography, KitchenEx, Preventx, Wilford Smith, Eaton Commercial Property Consultants Ltd and Galaxy Insulation and Dry Lining (Holdings) Limited.
