Where do you live/where are you from?

I live in small village called Oakenshaw. The village is within both the Bradford and Kirklees metropolitan district.

Where is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

This is a difficult question for me as God’s own country is my favourite place in the world. However, my  favourite place to visit in Yorkshire is Haworth, the home of the Bronte sisters. I love the history, the cobbled streets and the deliciously quaint tea rooms. Although the traffic wardens are the most fierce here!

What is still on your “to do” list in the region

I would love to take my 3 year old daughter to the forbidden corner in the Yorkshire dales. The statues, sculptures and gardens will definitely keep the whole family entertained for the day.

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?

San Carlo in Leeds, this is where I fell in love with James, my partner of 6 years.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

Cliché but I love gravy on most of my food. I also have the broadest Yorkshire accent one could wish to have.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.

Guy Fawkes (famously caught with gunpowder under the house of commons) was actually born in York!

Who is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

Good old Ed Sheeran, born in Halifax in 1991.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

The M62 between junction 26/27 east and west bound! Also how untidy some areas of Bradford are.

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

Freddy Flintoff, he should have been a Yorkshire man!

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

Yorkshire pudding, bland and sometimes soggy, similar to eating a wet cardboard box
