The facade of a luxury apartment building currently under redevelopment to create 77 apartments in York is being revealed for the first time.

Work began on Ryedale House, in York, in July 2018. Over the next few weeks the covers which have kept the building under wraps will gradually be removed from the seventh to the third floor.

Ryedale House, on York’s Piccadilly, features the redevelopment of a building which has been a dominant landmark on the side of the River Foss since the 1970s.

Property developer Newby is creating one, two and three-bedroom apartments across eight floors. Prices will range from £250,000 to £1.25m.

The building will also include a hotel-style lobby with concierge, secure parking, lifts, cycle stores and storage lockers for all apartments.

The next stage of the development will see a three-storey front extension being built, which will house three commercial units and eight apartments, including several with outdoor terraces. Ryedale House is expected to be completed in summer 2020.

Anthony Mackle, Sales & Marketing Director at Newby, said: “We’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to turn Ryedale House into a luxury apartment building, the best in York – and it’s great to finally be able to reveal some of the exterior to the world.

“Looking up from the street, or even seeing the building on the way into York you can see how the apartments’ floor to ceiling windows will offer spectacular views.

“It marks the next leap forward in the development, and we’re delighted that we’re one step closer to completion.”
