Civil engineering firm celebrates continued expansion

A civil engineering business formed in 2015 with only a handful of employees now has a confirmed turnover this calendar year of £20m.

CORE, which is celebrating its fifth year in business this week, has also seen its headcount rise and currently employs a 100-strong team.

The company is led by directors John Duffy and Alan Cooper, and delivers on civil engineering projects in Yorkshire and The Midlands working with private, commercial and residential developers.

Cooper said: “It is great to be able to celebrate our five years in business, our growing client list and diverse portfolio of projects.

“The team has grown, as has our presence and profile across the regions within which we operate. CORE is a regional company with the experience, skills and the resources of a major contractor.”

The firm’s project portfolio includes large scale development projects including Gain Lane in Bradford, Gildersome in Leeds and Rockingham Logistics Hub – a 250-acre site with planning for end-to-end automotive processing, with storage capacity for 50,000 vehicles and 40,000 sq ft of office space.

To date CORE have completed 45 projects, with project values ranging from £50,000 to £12m, across a full range of sectors including: Infrastructure & Highways, Residential Housing Infrastructure and Commercial Development.

Earlier this year, Ben Gooding also joined the company as technical manager, in a move that sees him working on earthworks, highways and drainage design contracts for several of the firm’s clients.

Cooper added: “We pride ourselves on developing long lasting relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the delivery of every project.

“All of our team are empowered to forge and maintain relationships with both clients, other contractors and suppliers and we take every pride in each client project that we take on, from the first meeting to project completion.”
