Investment business gets its teeth into dental products supplier
A surgical supplier to the dental market, Swallow Dental Supplies, has been acquired by the conglomerate Lifco.
Established in 1998 and based in Silsden, West Yorkshire, Swallow Dental specialises in the supply of high-end dental products to dentists and clinicians throughout the UK and Eire.
It has a particular specialty in bone-regeneration and implant-care products.
Headquartered in Sweden, Lifco’s business concept is to acquire and develop market-leading niche businesses with the potential to deliver sustainable earnings growth and robust cash flows.
It has three business areas: Dental, Demolition & Tools and Systems Solutions. At year-end 2019, the Lifco Group consisted of 164 operating companies in 30 countries.
Manchester based Camlee Group acted as lead financial adviser to Swallow Dental Supplies on its sale to Lifco.
Dr Paul Harrison, founder of Swallow Dental and James Weller, sales director, will continue to manage the business.
Harrison said: “Swallow Dental and Camlee spent three years finding the right organisation to acquire the business.
“Having had discussions with a number of parties, we’re confident that Lifco, with their associated businesses represents the best profile for the long-term development of Swallow.”
The Camlee team was led by senior manager Max Perry, with assistance from partner, Lee Wojtkiw.
Legal counsel was provided to the sellers by Julian Bond of Glaisyers and Alistair Scott-Sommers of Progeny, and tax advice provided by Alison Whalley and Chris Gumbley at Naylor Wintersgill.
The buyers were represented by Adrian Moss of Walker Morris with tax advice from Nick Millward at BDO.
