Shopping centre unveils refurbished market hall

North Point Shopping Centre, in Bransholme, Hull, is celebrating a double milestone as a refurbished market hall is unveiled coinciding with transformed pub, The Sutton Arms, welcoming punters back after four years.

The Market Hall has undergone a substantial revamp, which has delivered new flooring throughout, open space at the back of the market and new stall electrics including electric roller shutters.

Fresh signage has also been installed, including a striking LED market entrance sign and new individual market stall signage.

The unveiling of the new market hall facility follows a critical year for the shopping centre, which proved to be a valuable resource during the pandemic.

A number of essential stores remained open and were depended upon by the community more than ever before.

During this time, pub company, Admiral Taverns, also transformed the former Foredyke pub which is situated alongside North Point Shopping Centre.

The Sutton Arms is now open to the public and offers a fresh look and feel. Bransholme residents haven’t been able to meet at this venue since November 2017.

A spokesman for North Point Shopping Centre said: “The last year has been incredibly tough for everyone in the community so we’re extremely proud to have played such an essential role in supporting people through this difficult time.

“As lockdown restrictions have eased and more of our shops have opened back up, it’s been wonderful to see a sense of normality return to the centre.

“With the refurbished and rebranded market and pub now unveiled, North Point’s place as a popular community resource is only going to be further cemented.”
