New building consultancy firm established following merger

Recently formed surveying practice, BHT Building Consultancy, has merged with established building consultancy Lawson & Co.

BHT Building Consultancy is a firm of chartered building surveyors providing a range of building surveying services nationally from its Leeds office. It is a joint venture set up by directors Jack Margerrison and David Brackenridge.

Lawson & Co is also based in Leeds. Its founder, Ian Lawson, joins BHT Building Consultancy as a consultant.

Margerrison, has gained experience of working in all sectors of Commercial and Residential Surveying having worked for independent practices in the North-East and in Yorkshire.

He said: ‘‘The opportunity to launch a new Building Consultancy practice alongside David and with Ian on-board is very exciting.

“We understand with the current economic uncertainty the 2023 property and construction industry is likely to be volatile and unnerving to clients. We therefore understand the importance of providing clear, impartial and practical advice to ensure clients are best informed.”

Brackenridge is also the co-founder of Brackenridge Hanson Tate Ltd. The business has been providing Commercial Agency, Investment, Valuation, Asset Management and Property Management Services for over 25 years.

Brackenridge said: ‘‘I am delighted to have formed this new business with Jack which will enable us to provide
Building Surveying Services to both our existing and new clients.

“We have worked closely with Lawson & Co over many years and are pleased Ian has joined as a consultant.”
