More firms snap up space at city regeneration

Sheffield’s Park Hill development, a joint venture between Urban Splash and Places for People, says two new businesses will open in phase two of the site, part of a string of commercial deals to be completed throughout 2023.

Property consultant, Inform Surveying, is the first in the new wave of businesses to move into the 20,000 sq ft of mixed-use commercial space available in this phase, suitable for a variety of offices and workspaces, as well as a café and terraced restaurant.

Established in Sheffield in 2015, Inform Surveying was soon looking for a new location within the city to accommodate its growing team and to meet its commercial needs.

Owner and MD of the firm, Gavin Sampson, said: “Last year we reached the stage where we needed more space, without compromising our proximity to the city centre.

“Park Hill which had been on our horizon, quite literally, for a number of years, offered all we needed – and more.

“The dual aspect of our new office provides huge amounts of light and arguably the best views out across our city, alongside a great vibe and community feel, full of green space and yet within a five-minute walk to the central railway station.

“We are proud to be part of this historic building, which will form part of our company brand to help market the business.”

Field, a creative studio that works across brand, exhibitions, digital & emerging technologies, and web will also be taking up residence within phase two of the development in the coming months.

Joint owner and CD, Jonathan Briggs, said: “As the owners of Field, and Sheffield-ers ourselves, we jumped to be part of the rich history that is Park Hill.

“It can be very difficult for small business to find office space across the city but Park Hill both supports and harbours independents, with what they have to offer.

“The outlook from the office unit is incredible, with second-to-non transport and parking options, another huge plus for our team and clients.”

Mark Latham, Urban Splash regeneration director, said: “Alongside our development partners we are extremely proud of our role in the Park Hill story so far, collaborating with world-class design partners to sensitively restore this incredible building.

“Our work to date has seen the creation of hundreds of homes of mixed tenure, as well as workspaces and outside spaces creating a sustainable mixed-use community.

“We are pleased to welcome our new commercial residents as we look forward to the future, building on the work already completed to ensure that more people can live, work and play here.”
