Record financial year for PR agency

Leeds-based PR agency, Lucky North, has reported a record financial performance for the year ending 31 December 2023.

It achieved a 28% increase in revenue to £370,000 compared to last year and a 35% increase in forecasted revenue for 2024 to £500,000. Pre-tax profits remained the same at around £86,000.

The agency is directed by founding members, Lucy Baird and Kiran Watson.

Baird said: “We’re so pleased to be able to report continued growth despite the turbulent economic backdrop.

“Kiran and I are both dedicated to the power that PR can arm a business with and it’s so rewarding to be making a genuine impact, with tangible business benefits for our clients.

“The economic climate is tough at the moment, so we know how paramount it is to be demonstrating this value to our clients.

“When we first set up Lucky North, we wanted to be the most recommended PR agency in the north. When every new lead started with a conversation that went, ‘You were recommended to us’ we knew our vision was coming to life.”

The agency was established as a team of two in 2019 and has since grown its staff to 10.

It has moved to a more central location in Park Place, Leeds, after its growth required more office space and the business is looking ahead to further expansion in 2024.

Watson added: “We believe PR goes beyond media coverage. Our work actively changes perceptions and consumer behaviour for the long-term.

“That’s why our favourite campaigns are the ones that demand so much attention you can’t get away from the message within.”
