Alcumus acquires Drury

THE Alcumus Group has bought Drury, a Yorkshire-based HR, employment law and health & safety outsourcing company.

Established in 1991 and headquartered in Bradford, Drury provides advice and guidance on complex compliance issues.

Services include health and safety audits and risk assessments, health and safety policy development, preparation of employment contracts, HR and employment law advice and employment tribunal representation and support.

Chris Whittam, who has over 17 years’ experience of the HR and health and safety compliance and advice market, will join the business in the new role of director of Drury PSM.

Martin Smith, group chief executive of Aylesbury-based Alcumus Group, said: “We have followed and known Drury for a number of years and are delighted to have been able to acquire such an established brand and quality provider of services to the growing HR and H&S compliance market.

“The addition of Drury represents a significant development in the strategy of Alcumus and creates a springboard for the group to enter the wider employment law and HR advice market and at the same time adding additional H&S service lines to supplement those we already have from Sypol and Info Exchange.

“We look forward to working with the team at Drury to continue its growth and to extend our respective areas of expertise across the combined customer base.”

Drury’s founders, Tony and Rosemary Izzard and Ian Rainbow, added: “Having grown the business over the last 20 years, we are delighted that Drury, and its loyal workforce and customers, will now benefit from the shared expertise and resources of the Alcumus Group.

“We look forward with confidence to seeing Drury and Alcumus continue to innovate and grow within the HR and health & safety compliance market.”

The acquisition of Drury was supported with funding and transactional expertise from Sovereign Capital.
