Hat-trick of property wins for Met Consultancy

MET Consultancy Group has secured contracts to provide engineering and surveying services for a range of property developments.

The Leeds-based company has won the work on projects for a new foodstore and health and veterinary centre developments.

Commissioned by Dransfield Properties, Met Consultancy said the three projects were the largest won by the company since it underwent a reorganisation last summer.

The contracts will see the company employ its Met Geo Environment (geophysics and utility mapping), Met Geo Environmental (land and building), and Met Engineers (civil and structural) arms.

The foodstore development for Bradford-based Morrisons in Morpeth in Northumberland will provide a new sales area of 25,000 sq ft.

Met Engineering and Geo Environmental are also providing all civil engineering and surveying for a new multi-disciplinary equine and farm veterinary centre to be developed in Morpeth.

Met Group chairman Neil Harvey said: “We took a strategic decision to refocus our business on offering an integrated suite of technical service options under one roof that allow our clients to make considerable project efficiency savings.

“Although the market remains difficult and tendering is highly competitive, these contacts demonstrate that there are opportunities for firms that can deliver the right mix of technological capability and value.”

Dransfield Properties has also appointed Met Consultancy Group to provide the structural design, civil engineering, topographical and geophysics surveys for a new £4.5m health centre being built in Tunstall for Staffordshire Primary Care Trust.

When completed, the Centre will provide 70,000 patients with access to purpose-built services including a pharmacy, GP surgeries, dental and specialist health screening facilities.
