Fulcrum wins Center Parcs contract

GAS infrastructure and connections company Fulcrum is helping to deliver a £250m holiday park to be opened by Center Parcs.

The Sheffield-based business will design and install a 3km long gas pipeline to the new development at Woburn in Bedfordshire.

The gas will help fuel an energy centre supplying the leisure facilities, 625 lodges, hotel and restaurants.

Sales and marketing director Richard Atkinson said: “This is a forest area so consideration of the landscape and protecting the environment during installation will be just as high on our priority list as a safe and efficient gas supply.”

Work on the pipeline will start in September and is due to be completed by the end of the year.

Woburn is the fifth holiday park to be opened by Center Parcs and is due to welcome its first visitors in 2014.

The contract was awarded by building services design company Cunnington Clark.
