SHEFFIELD’S joint biggest hotel took another step closer to its opening as developers took the wraps off its contemporary southeast facing elevation.
The latest stage of the hotel’s construction, based behind the Westfield Corner Stand of Sheffield United’s home ground, has seen the outside of the building clad in a veneer of silver eurobond insulated cladding panels close to the rear of the Capital One Stand.
The £17m project is a result of a link-up with prestigious international company Millennium & Copthorne Hotels to operate the four-star hotel, which will include 158-bedrooms, executive suites, a modern bar, fitness suite and restaurant.
The hotel is set to complement the club’s existing leisure and conferencing facilities at the stadium.
The project is set to be completed in November.
Yorkshire-based company GMI Construction Group is working with the Blades on the development.
