Roderick Evans takes MD seat

RODERICK Evans is to become the latest member of the family to lead property firm Evans Management.

Mr Evans will become managing director as the current holder of the post, Ian Marcus, becomes non-executive chairman.

He said: “I am very pleased to be following in the footsteps of my grandfather and father. I am also looking forward to continuing my long association with what is acknowledged to be a very strong and experienced executive team.

“Despite difficult market conditions, the group is in a very strong position. We have an investment portfolio of exceptional quality in terms of covenant strength and lease length; a significant development pipeline, including substantial strategic land holdings and a successful and growing non-property investment portfolio.

“Our balance sheet is strong with net assets in the region of £350m, substantial borrowing facilities in place and gearing of around 35%.”

Mr Evans will take over from Mr Marcus at the start of 2013.

Evans Property Group is based in Leeds and has a portfolio that includes No 1 Park Row in the city.
