Latest property appointments: Raworths; WSB; Ward Hadaway

HARROGATE law firm Raworths has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Alasdair Inglis from Pinsent Masons as head of commercial property.

Inglis has worked in the commercial property sector for 14 years and has a wide range of experience in dealing with landlord and tenant, Investment, funding and development work acting for both private and public sector clients.

After qualifying with Julian Hey in York, he joined Pinsent Masons in Leeds as part of the commercial property team. Apart from a three-year stint at Cobbetts in Leeds, he remained at Pinsent Masons until his move to Raworths.

He said: “My commercial property work over the years has been extremely varied. The opportunity that Raworths presents is one where I can call upon this experience to consolidate and to expand the range and type of work the department carries out. I am delighted to be joining such a well-motivated, experienced and talented team and intend to add to its success.”

WSB hiresCOMMERCIAL property consultancy and chartered surveyors WSB has hired three new members of staff to its agency and professional services teams.

WSB has appointed graduate surveyor Chris Watt to its valuation department and Alex Holman, a placement student from Northumbria University, to assist the agency teams across the office and retail sectors.

WSB has also recently launched an apprenticeship scheme through the appointment of William Millburn who will undertake a five year programme with the company whilst studying for a BSc degree in Estate Management.

David Hymas Ward HadawayEXPERIENCED property and infrastructure specialist David Hymas has joined the Leeds office of law firm Ward Hadaway.

Hymas has more than 30 years’ experience in dealing with commercial property transactional and development work for a range of clients.

He has particular expertise in the field of site assembly and the associated planning and infrastructure requirements and has advised on projects including a major office development near Leeds and a retail scheme in York.

As well as his work in Yorkshire, he has also worked on projects in the North West, including advising on the MediaCity UK development in Salford – now home to BBC Sport and other broadcasters – as well as a number of housing and local authority projects where he advised on planning, highways and infrastructure issues.

He has joined Ward Hadaway as a consultant in the firm’s commercial property team in Leeds.
