Yorkshire property firm makes £13m investment

EVANS Property Group is investing a further £13m in the development of new cabins at two Forest Holidays sites.

The Leeds-based property firm invested some £27m in the development of the two holiday cabin sites, in Sherwood Forest and the Forest of Dean, in 2012. Both the Nottingham and Gloucestershire locations have proven so popular with visitors that extensions are now underway following Evans’ commitment to a further £13m of funding.

The Forest of Dean site already offers 76 cabins and a further 44 will be completed by October this year. At Sherwood Forest, the existing 65 cabins have been boosted by the addition of a further 17 which have recently completed. The two sites owned by Evans form part of a total nine sites operated by Forest Holidays throughout England and Scotland.

Alan Syers, portfolio director at Evans Property Group, said: “The Forest Holidays sites have proven to be extremely popular since their openings in 2012. To accommodate the strong demand from holiday-makers, we have committed this extra investment to increase the offering at both Sherwood Forest and Forest of Dean and we are excited to see the sites being extended.”

Evans Property Group is a long-established property investor and developer with a varied property portfolio which includes Grade A office accommodation such as the newly launched Minerva in Leeds city centre, student accommodation at The University of York and a substantial development land bank including strategic land holdings in the Aire Valley in Leeds.
