Property group confident of continued growth

PROPERTY group B38 is targeting further growth as it expects to more than double turnover within the next three years.

Based in Wakefield, the B38 Group – a number of companies operating in the commercial property maintenance and construction sectors – provides nationwide facilities and construction services to blue-chip clients including Audi Volkswagen, AXA, Enterprise Car Rental and ERS Medical.

The firm was launched three years ago and currently has a team of 50. However, director Richard Phillips, who founded the business with fellow director Tim Bailey, is confident that with an increase in work by the end of next year, the firm could see staff boosted to 100 people.

“We are trying to take on apprentices to help grow the business and we like to invest in new people,” Phillips added.

The B38 Group will see turnover of more than £8m this year and expects that growth will continue with turnover forecast for £16m to £20m in the next three years.

Recent contracts include work at the 40,000 sq ft Euramax site in Barnsley, a refurbishment project at a Cancer Research facility in Devon and ground works for an Iceland supermarket building in Hillsborough, Sheffield.

Phillips said the firm, which also has offices in London and Bromsgrove, currently has about £15m worth of contracts out to tender and moving forward, opportunities lie heavily with SMEs.

Recent investments include around £70,000 on new IT upgrades platform for the facilities management side of the business. “This investment has totally streamlined all of our processes,” Phillips added.
