Top Leeds chef unveils food destination
RESTAURATEUR Anthony Flinn has unveiled his most ambitious venture to date as more than 500 guests gathered at Leeds Corn Exchange to celebrate the launch of the Piazza by Anthony.
Following the restoration and refurbishment of the historic landmark building, the Piazza by Anthony occupies the entire 13,200 sq ft ground floor level which was first used to store and sample corn.
The space now incorporates a 116 seat brasserie, cafe, lounge bar, Hennessey Champagne Suite, and five retail units – a bakery, patisserie, chocolate shop, a deli cheese shop and an ingredients shop.
The Brassiere is situated in the open central expanse under an impressive glazed star lit dome roof and will serve an extensive menu designed by Anthony Flinn, encompassing brunch, lunch, afternoon teas and dinner.
A Cafe which spreads through three of the original archway cellars has been designed to be a more casual environment – serving sandwiches, salads, soups and light snacks – with free internet access.
Home to the first ever Hennessy Conference Suite outside of London, The Piazza by Anthony is aiming to provide the ideal location for business meetings, private dining events or corporate team-building and training.
The venue is split into three rooms to include a reception room with casual sofa style seating for a drinks reception or breakfast meeting, a meeting/training room with conference style seating and the latest audio visual technology, and a private dining room with seating for up to 20.
Each of the retail units will supply the Piazza Brassiere, Anthony’s on Boar Lane, Anthony’s at Flannels and the Patisserie by Anthony in the Victoria Quarter – a unique concept where Anthony’s businesses can support each other and produce the freshest daily produce for on-site consumption or take away.
