Leeds property agent banned from being a director until 2018

THE Leeds-based director of property firm Docklands and City Lettings has been disqualified from acting as a company director for 3 years and 6 months for failing to exercise control of the company’s business or protect client deposits.

Paul Davison was a director of the lettings and management agency based in the Docklands area of London, which was liquidated in May 2013, owing £350,000.

The company had failed to protect deposits received from tenants on behalf of landlords – as it was required to do under the Housing Act 2004 – which resulted in 23 tenants and landlords losing £40,456.

Following an investigation by the Insolvency Service, Mr Davison has been disqualified from managing or in any way controlling a company or being a director until June 24, 2018.

Robert Clarke, who heads up the Insolvency Service’s northern company investigations division, said: “The public should be assured that the Insolvency Service will seek to disqualify the directors of companies that do not obey the law and use other people’s money for the benefit of the company.”
