Construction firm wins £13.9m Leeds apartment development

BARDSLEY CONSTRUCTION has won a £13.9m contract to develop 147 apartments at X1 Aire on East Street in Leeds.

The firm has secured contracts worth a combined total of £50m with property developer X1 following this win.

Bardsley will create 147 one and two-bedroom apartments in three blocks, with office space, a gym and basement car park.

Work is due to start on site in September, with the scheme due for completion in May 2017.

Liverpool-based Developers, X1 also contracted Bardsley for a £13.6m scheme at The Exchange in Salford Quays, a £7.6m scheme at X1 The Edge in Liverpool, and several other Salford and Liverpool developments.

Adrian Rooney, regional director for Bardsley Construction Yorkshire, said: “Our ongoing and burgeoning partnership with X1 Developments allows us to provide a vibrant mix of new build and redeveloped student accommodation, residential and commercial properties spanning the length of the M62.”
