150 jobs to be created after car group buys former Carcraft site

AVAILABLECAR is to relaunch a used car supermarket employing 150 people on the former Carcraft site near Morley.
It has bought the 11.5 acre site, at junction 28 of the M62, for an undisclosed sum.
East Midlands-based AvailableCar is to begin a £1m programme of renovations at the site immediately and plans to open in January with 1,500 vehicles.
Graham Bell, AvailableCar chairman, said: “After having such incredible success with our East and West Midlands based car supermarkets, we felt we wanted to add a Yorkshire location to our portfolio and a high profile city like Leeds is the perfect destination.
“Many of our managerial team already live in Yorkshire and have been looking into the former Carcraft site since its closure in April. After viewing, it made sense to purchase an already purposefully designed and built car supermarket. Over £1m is now being spent on renovations and our car-buying teams are working hard, to ensure we are ready for our opening early next year.”
