David Brennan is the chief executive of Nexus Vehicle Rental, the corporate vehicle rental provider.

Where do you live/where are you from?

Originally from Shropshire, now living in Birstwith near Harrogate.

What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

The Dales; great scenery and enjoy cycling and walking.

What is still on your “to do” list in the region?

I’ve not managed to get to Yorkshire Sculpture Park as yet, but I’ve heard it’s a good place for a Sunday afternoon stroll.

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?

Van Zeller in Harrogate – excellent food and service.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

I can be very direct!

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.

Ripon is the oldest city in England.

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

It’s got to be the Yorkshire pudding!

First experience of Yorkshire (for non-Yorkshire folk)

When I first moved here from Tunbridge Wells it felt exactly the same! Same shops, same people – just two degrees colder.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

Saturdays at Elland Road, especially the recent drubbing by Huddersfield Town in the local derby.

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

A few good, young footballs players like Marcus Rashford.

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

Henderson’s Relish – not for me.
