Law firm takes space at Leeds development

EMSLEYS SOLICITORS has opened a new head office in Leeds.

The office at No.6 Colton Mill will be home to the firm’s management team, support functions, and the conveyancing team, while also providing client meeting spaces and an employee training facility.

The firm said the move coincides with a “substantial increase” in business, with its conveyancing team alone seeing a 15% increase in new files opened this year compared to last year.

Emsleys’ director and head of conveyancing Alistair McKinlay said: “These well-appointed premises perfectly reflect the quality and expertise that Emsleys provides. The new office also offers the potential for future expansion as we further develop our work with private clients and new home developers.”

He added: “Emsleys has superb client-facing and support teams who work extremely well together across multiple offices. Our new premises will enable even greater cohesion, benefiting both our clients and our business as a whole.”

The firm has signed a 10-year lease on the 5,028 sq ft two-storey office building.

The Leeds office of Knight Frank advised the landlord Frances Quinlan on the letting at a rent of £65,000 a year.

Elizabeth Ridler, partner and office agency specialist at Knight Frank, said: “This was an excellent deal, which suited all parties. It underlines the strength of the location, next to Junction 46 of the M1, and the quality of the building, which boasts 24 on-site car parking spaces. It proves that the Yorkshire property market is still strong, despite the post-Brexit uncertainty.”

Colton Mill Office Park is situated opposite the entrance to Thorpe Park with local amenities and facilities including Sainsbury’s supermarket, Colton Mill Retail Park, Travelodge, Pizza Hut, Busy Bees creche and Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa.

Nearby occupiers include Andrew Page, Yorkshire Water, and Kuehne + Nagel.
