Administrators in talks over holiday parks sale

Billing Aquadrome

The administrators of two East Midlands holiday parks which fell into administration at the beginning of July say they are talking to a number of potential buyers.

Daniel Smith and Oliver Haunch of Grant Thornton were appointed as joint administrators of Billing Aquadrome Limited on July 6. The company owns Billing Aquadrome in Northampton and the nearby Cogenhoe Mill Holiday Park.

A spokesperson for Grant Thornton told TheBusinessDesk.com: “Following their appointment, the joint administrators have continued to carry out their statutory obligations and are in discussion with a number of interested parties, with the view to securing a sale of these assets.

“Whilst the detail of these discussions remains commercially confidential, the joint administrators are confident of achieving a positive outcome for stakeholders and it remains ‘business as usual’ for the sites involved.

“Further information will be made available in due course.”

RoyaleGroup, the owner of Billing Aquadrome Limited, said the resort has been placed into administration after the firm was hit with a succession of “false” winding up orders.

Robert Bull, Founder and Executive Chairman of RoyaleGroup, said: “Like many companies we had a challenging time emerging from the pandemic and, as an entity, we became subject to winding up orders based on false claims and unfounded information. These have either been dismissed or are the subject of legal action.”

He added: “More than 200 legal entities comprise the RoyaleGroup and these remain unaffected. I therefore want to reassure our funders, suppliers, residents, and employees that it is very much business as usual.”
