On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Investigative and intelligence tech specialist Altia has expanded its senior leadership team with the addition of a chief operating officer (COO).

The move sees Allan Dunn join the tech company as COO and as a new member of its board of

Headquartered in Nottingham, Altia serves a global audience, providing law enforcement agencies, government departments, and private sector businesses with intelligence and investigation software.

Dunn joins Altia from private equity firm NorthEdge, where he served as portfolio director for the past eighteen months, advising Altia’s CEO and the Board.

His insights and operational expertise during this period have already been instrumental in guiding Altia’s direction, making him well-prepared for his new leadership role.

As COO, Dunn will ensure Altia’s operational plans are seamlessly executed, enabling CEO Rob Sinclair to focus on long-term strategy.

 

Nottingham headquartered national auction house, John Pye & Sons, has strengthened its IT team with the appointment of Rob Walker as software development manager.

In this newly-created role, Walker will lead John Pye’s developers to deliver innovative, high-quality software to continuously improve John Pye’s online auctions.

Walker brings 30 years of IT industry experience to the team, including support and network administration, plus over 20 years of experience in developing websites and online applications.

Having previously held a role with John Pye, he has recently returned to the business after three years in the returns processing, marketplaces and auction environment of a start-up.

His daily responsibilities include creating and managing project plans, timelines and budgets and aligning development efforts with business goals.

Identifying areas for process improvement and driving initiatives to enhance productivity and quality are also key requirements of the role.

Walker said: “John Pye is a great family business and I’m looking forward to fulfilling a new role where I can add value and expertise to enhance the online business. I’m excited about fostering a positive and collaborative environment that drives innovation while harnessing emerging trends and technologies which will improve John Pye’s operations and improve our customer experience.”
