Swimwear brand dives into global expansion

Grimsby-based children’s swimwear brand Splash About has announced an international expansion in Australia and the USA.

The company has acquired its distribution partner Little Toggs in New South Wales, rebranding it as Splash About Australia Pty Limited, and has also hired a team in the USA for the first time.

It aims to strengthen ties with infant swim schools, retailers, and distributors as global demand for its products grows.

In Australia, operations are based in New South Wales, led by Little Toggs founder Kylie Hadid, while Damien McDonnell heads business development in Texas, USA.

Alongside swimwear and accessories, Splash About offers Partnership Programmes to support swim schools globally, helping them boost attendance, improve efficiency and cut costs without raising prices.

With 20 years of experience, Splash About’s flagship Happy Nappy is worn by over 200,000 UK babies weekly, and the Happy Nappy DUO is the only swim nappy scientifically proven to neutralise harmful bacteria before it enters pool water.

The brand is known for award-winning innovations like open-flat baby wetsuits for easier dressing, the first adjustable buoyancy swim jacket for children and mould-free swim and bath toys.

Lesley Beach joint managing director of Splash About International said: “The potential for growth in Australia is huge with over 1.8 million children currently learning to swim. We had a strong presence in the market working closely with Little Toggs, but the infant swimwear and accessories market has grown exponentially.

“Demand for our Happy Nappy swim nappy has soared due to its technical design, which prevents faecal leaks. Unwelcome leaks are bad for business; pools need to close for cleaning, and lessons must be cancelled, which results in unnecessary and avoidable expenses. Insisting on a reusable Happy Nappy to prevent these accidents is a simple, proven, cost-effective option, saving operational costs and, in turn, increasing revenues.”
