SOCIAL SCENE: Mazars supports International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day was celebrated in style by top ten accountancy and business advisory firm Mazars this year, as the firm sponsored an exclusive event with a reality TV star.

Mazars threw its support behind ‘Deborah Labbate Presents: An audience with The Reverend Kate Bottley. Kate is vicar at three rural churches in North Nottinghamshire, chaplain at a Further Education college, a columnist and writer, a regular on the Chris Evans breakfast show on BBC Radio 2 and appears on Channel 4’s award-winning show Gogglebox.

Barbara said: “The event was fabulous, and Kate was absolutely hilarious. She showed the infamous video that started her fame when she took part in a flashmob during a wedding ceremony she was presiding over, spoke about her time on Googlebox and talked about her love of shoes.

“I sat on the top table with her, and she was such a lovely, down to earth individual – An absolute delight to be around. She even entertained us during the lull between main and dessert with a spoon trick!”

The chosen charity for the event was the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre. Robert Rees from the charity was in the audience to receive the proceeds from a raffle – the prizes for which were kindly donated by local businesses.

Other sponsors were Connect Space and Temprell Jewellers. The Park Plaza sponsored the welcome drinks. GL Productions were AV Sponsors.
