£2m data centre creates new jobs in Nottingham

A new £2m data centre has created 11 jobs in Nottingham.
Space Data Centres started testing its new Tier 3 facility just outside the city centre last September and has gone live ahead of schedule.
The new data centre features A/B/C Power Supply, Cold Aisle Containment, Fire and Vesda Detection and Suppression Systems; 24-hour Security; and High-Speed Connectivity. Space Data Centres also offers the full range of Colocation, Managed Hosting and Cloud Services.
Gary Digva, sales director at Space Data Centres said: “We’ve been busy building a brand new infrastructure with the customer in mind.
“We’ve invested years of research into producing a data centre which can host high density equipment and lower costs and with a flexible footprint, and we’re delighted to be able to create a number of new jobs to boost the local economy.
Custom designed and built to spec, Space Data Centre’ s new tier 3 data centre is right at the cutting edge in terms of resiliency, efficiency and reliability.
Digva said: “Having worked with technology for a long time it’s difficult for it not to permeate all aspects of your life, which is why our chill-out room is full of it – even including a retro arcade machine.”
Space Data Centres has invested over £2m in the brand new facility, which is UKAS Accredited ISO27001 Information Security, registered under the Data Protection Act and complies with the EU Code of Conduct for Green Data Centres.
