Southwell Library Poetry Festival
Date: Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th July
Location: Southwell Library, Nottinghamshire

Southwell Library Poetry festival returns for its ninth consecutive year, entertaining and inspiring poetry-enthusiasts of all ages. The four-day festival is set to be as eclectic as ever, with a wide range of activities from workshops to afternoon tea. There will be performances from three nationally-acclaimed poets over the course of the weekend including poet, comedian and writer, Kate Fox.

Caribbean carnival
Date: Saturday 16th July
Location: Market Place, Derby

This year Derby West Indian Community Association (DWICA) celebrates its 41st year of hosting Derby Caribbean Carnival in the city. This exciting community event will showcase a carnival troupe street procession starting at 1pm from Pear Tree School.
From 3pm there will be a costume competition and stage show in the Market Place.

Location: Beckets Park, Abington Park, Rushmere tennis club, Northampton Lawn Tennis Club, Crick and West Haddon Tennis clubs, Northampton

Why not try your hand at tennis for free this summer at a local Great British Tennis Weekend event!? Thousands of free events will be taking place throughout the summer and all across Northamptonshire with sessions to suit the whole family. Highland Spring Mini Tennis sessions, family time, free play, Cardio Tennis and various other kinds of activities will be available to get involved in.

Scoot to the Waterfront
Date: 10am – 5pm Saturday 16th July
Location: Brayford Waterfront, Lincoln

The fifth scoot to the waterfront event has returned to Lincoln this weekend, providing locals a day of custom shows, ride outs and live music. Whether you want to take part or simply spectate, there will be over 200 scooters zooming around the waterfront in aid of charity.

Location: Theatre Royal Concert Hall, Nottinghamshire

Formerly of the bass guitarist of the Sex Pistols, Glen Matlock is set to perform at the Theatre Royal for one night only for an evening that’s part gig & part spoken biography.
