Mansfield firm wins £540,000 London residential contract

TNQ development

Mansfield-based TIS, the fire, security and communications firm, has won a £540,000 contract to supply a residential development in North West London.

TIS, which employs around 140 people at its Mansfield headquarters, has been appointed by main contractors Imtech Engineering Services Central Ltd to develop and install an integrated solution for The Northern Quarter (TNQ), a new mixed-use development on Capitol Way in Colindale, London.

The contract includes the installation of a fire detection, access control, CCTV and disabled refuge system, along with supporting analytics, number plate and facial recognition applications.

The new TNQ development includes 460 apartments spread across five buildings. It also features seven retail units, a gym, a crèche and a hotel style concierge service.

Phase one of the project, which included blocks A and B has already been completed and are already occupied, with the other three blocks set to be completed by February 2017.

Craig Beastall, project manager at TIS said: “The brief for the project was a very challenging one, which required the integration of a number of complex elements and we are delighted with the feedback we have received from the client.

“We are thoroughly enjoying working alongside Imtech and Shepherd Construction and the extended team of consultants and to be part of what is set to be a landmark scheme for the City of London.”

Paresh Kerai, project engineer at Imtech Engineering Services, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with TIS on this very complex project. Although challenging, the approach from TIS has ensured the project plan ran smoothly, without issues and more importantly to time and budget.

“TIS have been professional, knowledgeable and extremely thorough. Their expertise in this field is second to none and it was this level of know-how which proved a tremendous help from start to finish.”
