5 things to do in the Christmas holidays

NOT sure what to do over the Christmas holidays? Here’s a few ideas.
1. NYE Masquerade Ball
Date: Saturday 31st December
Location: Cathedral Quarter Hotel, Derby

2. New Year’s Celebrations
Date: Saturday 31st December
Location: Nottingham Castle, Nottingham
Nottingham City Council will be holding a free public New Years Eve celebration & fireworks Display at the Nottingham Castle Grounds this week. The area around the Gate House and Bandstand will feature entertainment and the Castle Green will host the Firework zone. The Rockery will be illuminated with coloured lights to add to the experience and food stalls and bars will also be available.
3. The Twits
Date: Saturday 10th December – Saturday 21st January
Location: Curve Theatre, Leicester
The Twits really are the most spiteful and revolting couple you could ever hope to meet. They spend their days playing wicked tricks on each other and mistreating Muggle-Wump monkeys. They also have a particularly sticky trick to catch Roly-Poly birds for their bird pies. But not for much longer because the monkeys have a cunning plan to teach those terrible twits a lesson.
Directed by Max Webster (The Lorax at The Old Vic), Curve’s new co-production with Rose Theatre Kingston promises to be just as disgusting and repulsive as earth worms disguised as spaghetti – the perfect Christmas treat for all the family.
4. New Year’s Day walk
Date: Sunday 1st January
Location: Cogglesfield Watermill, Sleaford
