Nottingham based property and construction consultancy, Gleeds, hosted a celebratory dinner for local businesses at The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club earlier this week, alongside its global ambassador Sir Steve Redgrave.

The event, attended by guests including England and Nottingham RFC legend Neil Back, Benoy, Freeths, Morgan Sindall and Scape Group, offered invitees a unique Q&A opportunity with the five time Olympic champion.

Sir Steve, who has been the ambassador for Gleeds since 2006, was invited to discuss his experience as an Olympian. Reflecting on his time training at Pierrepont National Water Sports Centre and his involvement with local rowing clubs along the River Trent, Sir Steve said: “Whenever we came up to train at Pierrepont we were always told that the lake was as calm as millpond, and this became a bit of running joke within our team because without fail it would blow a gale as soon as we got out on the water. Memories of choppy water aside, it is great being back up in Nottingham again.”

Gleeds director Anthony Cork, said: “The evening was a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to come together and celebrate a successful year for Nottingham. Having the opportunity to be inspired by Sir Steve’s achievements and reflections made the event even more special.”
