Gusto reveals new West Bridgford boss

Upmarket restaurant chain Gusto has named the general manager for its West Bridgford launch.
Tom Shacklock has been appointed general manager after a career spent working at Nottingham bars Pitcher & Piano and Living Room. Since then, he has spent a number of years working in the recruitment industry in the Middle East before managing two major celebrity chef restaurants in Dublin.
Shacklock, from Woodthorpe, Nottingham, will step into his role at the first Gusto in the East Midlands, which currently has 15 successful restaurants across the UK, West Bridgford being its 16th.
He said: “I’m really excited to be part of the Gusto team as they open their newest restaurant, bringing a hugely successful brand to the perfect location in central West Bridgford.
“As a previous Living Ventures employee, it’s great to be back within the group again but even better to have ownership over the start of something new and play an important part in its success. I’m also really pleased to be returning to my roots – the Nottingham restaurant scene is booming.”
The latest restaurant will see 60 jobs created for the local area and more than £1m invested in a complete refurbishment, transforming the former Monkey Tree restaurant.
Sue Crimes, managing director at Gusto said: “It’s great to have Tom on board as our new general manager. With a great deal of experience in the restaurant scene, and this being his third restaurant opening, he is more than capable to manage Gusto West Bridgford and help bring it to life.”
