Indian firm buys Clumber Park Hotel & Spa

MGM Muthu Hotels has bought the Clumber Park Hotel & Spa in Nottingham in a multimillion pound deal funded by The Royal Bank of Scotland.
The hotel was put on the market last May for a price of £7m.
MGM Muthu Hotels, with has its roots in an Indian logistics firm, has 25 hotels in its portfolio. It bought the Belstead Brook Hotel in Ipswich in 2014 and added the Westcliff Hotel in Essex in portfolio in 2015.
The 4-star Clumber Park Hotel, near Sherwood Forest and the National Trust’s Clumber Park, has recently been refurbished, and has 73-bedrooms plus a courtyard restaurant, five meeting rooms, a spa, wedding venue and a wimming pool.
RBS was advised by Hawkins Hatton solicitors in Dudley. Highgate Asset Management advised Muthu Hotels.
