£200,000 refurb brings new Post Office to Coalville

Leicester-based HKS Retail is undertaking a £200,000 refurbishment of the Clocktower filling station in Coalville in a move that will bring forward a new forecourt, car parking, Spar shop and a Post Office.

HKS believes the new Post Office will be a major draw and benefit to the town.

Graham Sims, chairman of HKS, said: “Clocktower was the first ever filling station the business opened, some 33 years ago. Times have changed since then but we have moved with them and this will be a truly 21st Century facility.

“Today’s customer doesn’t just pop in to fuel their cars, they pop in to fuel their entire lifestyle. Everything we are doing with our offering is built around convenience and what the local customer wants, from fresh food to being able to visit a Post Office at 9pm or on the way home from work.

“We’ve been steadily adding facilities and partners to our 70 plus sites across the UK, whether it be a Spar, a Subway or Costa Coffee. Our key driver is based on what our customers need and the Post Office is still a major part of many people’s lives. We’re delighted to have brought an ex-Postmaster, Kamel Prabhakar, into the business to drive forward the roll-out drawing from his experience in the sector to help us add many more Post Offices in our stores and, ensure we can deliver the best possible service for our customers across the country.”
