£25m Mansfield residential scheme gets green light

Avant Homes managing director Glyn Mabey

Housebuilder Avant Homes has been granted planning permission to build the first residential properties at a multimillion pound urban expansion project in Berry Hill, on the outskirts of Mansfield.

Avant Homes’ 8.9-acre Berry Hill development will provide house buyers in the area with a mixture of 95 two, three, four and five-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes.

Full planning permission has been granted for Avant Homes’ initial £25m development and work at the site is due to commence in Autumn 2017, with the first homes expected to be ready for occupation by Spring 2018.

Avant Homes Midlands managing director, Glyn Mabey, said: “We are very pleased to have been granted planning permission to deliver the first 95 homes for this ambitious and exciting project that will bring new homes and jobs to Mansfield and the surrounding area.

“This development will offer buyers exceptional quality and innovative design features and we are looking forward to works getting underway in the autumn.”

The new homes will form the initial residential phase of the urban expansion project, which occupies a 418-acre site.

Once complete, a total of 1,700 new homes will be delivered on the outskirts of Mansfield, as well as a new community park, primary school, healthcare centre and infrastructure for the new community.

The planning permission follows Avant Homes’ recent acquisition of land as part of an urban extension project in Newark, where it will build 173 new homes.
