Administrators to close Pisani’s Derbyshire site
The administrators appointed to stricken marble, stone and granite merchant Pisani are set to close the firm’s Matlock site.
Lee Manning and Matt Smith from Deloitte were appointed joint administrators on 8 June 2017
Pisani was established in 1938. The Company operates from three sites across the UK, with its head office in Feltham (Middlesex) and sites in Matlock and Oldmeldrum (near Aberdeen).
A statement from Deloitte said: “Prior to our appointment, the company had attempted to raise additional investment for the business but was unsuccessful. Due to cash flow constraints and the threat of a winding up petition by HMRC, the company was unable to pay its liabilities when they fell and the company directors had no alternative but to issue a Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators on 31 May 2017. The company subsequently entered into administration on 8 June 2017.
The joint administrators plan to trade the business in the short term, retaining 33 out of 46 staff.
The statement added: “We will seek to assist customers by completing the current work in progress and then commence an orderly close down of the Feltham and Matlock sites. We are also looking to sell the Oldmeldrum business as a going concern.”
