Housebuilder Avant Homes has been given planning permission to build a £17m development in Creswell, Derbyshire providing 82 new homes.

The firm has been given the green light for the construction of the new properties at a nine-acre site off Skinner Street. The development, which will be named Portlands, will comprise a selection of two and three-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes and a number of four-bedroom detached properties.

Work is already underway on the first phase of the development with the full build programme lasting approximately three years, creating a “large number” of local construction and sales jobs.

Avant Homes Midlands managing director, Glyn Mabey, said: “We are very pleased to have been granted planning permission for this new development in Creswell, which will deliver high quality homes to the area. We are making significant investment in the region and have always found our homes here to be in very high demand.

“Our aim is to build design-led, family homes in prime locations and this new site will allow us to continue to deliver on our objectives. Each of the properties built at the site will include our all-inclusive new specification and innovative designs, which set Avant Homes apart from other developers.”

The first homes to be released for purchase of plan will be ready for house buyers to move into from early 2018.

Avant Homes will invest in the creation of a footpath link to the nearby Creswell Primary School.

The new development will take the number of current sites Avant Homes has in the Midlands to 16, with a number located nearby, including The Edge in Clowne, Rufford Oaks in Ollerton and Pomegranate Park in Chesterfield.
