On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Katie Baines

Leicestershire Promotions has appointed a new marketing manager to support the company’s range of short break campaigns, festivals and events projects and tourism development services.

Katie Baines joins Leicestershire Promotions from her previous role as marketing manager at Odd John & Family – a family-run company with a portfolio of local hospitality businesses.

Previously, she was also a marketing executive at international paper merchant Antalis and a UK recruitment assistant at De Montfort University.

Martin Peters, chief executive of Leicestershire Promotions said: “We’re delighted that Katie joins us at this pivotal stage in our growth and development as an independent tourism specialist. Marketing is key to promoting our tourism offerings locally and increasingly beyond, and Katie’s recruitment to our team will further strengthen our capabilities in this area.”

Lincoln-based vehicle specialist VisionDrive has hired five new members of staff.

VisionDrive, the brainchild of directors Ian Smith and Jack Davies, was founded in August 2016 and operates a vehicle transportation fleet specialising in single vehicle movements.

The new recruits are Terri Lamb, who joins the office team as an account manager, as well as three transport drivers, Darryl Horn-Hooper, Daryl Munday and Nick Ealam.

Jamie Ragsdale-Lowe also starts work this month in the driven division, taking on a role in the firm’s trade plate team. He will be working to deliver commercial and used vehicles across the UK.

Ian Smith said: “I’d like to welcome our latest recruits to the team at what is a very exciting time for us as a company. We have been really impressed with the calibre of interviewees coming through in Lincoln and we feel we’ve made the right decision in basing our workforce here.

“2017 has been a fantastic year for us so far and we can’t wait to share in the city’s growing business success.”
