On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Thomas Sewell

Construction contractor Stepnell has promoted Thomas Sewell to the position of regional director for the company’s Nottingham office.

In his previous role as operations and commercial manager, Sewell has led the Nottingham office since its launch in 2014.

Stepnell joint managing director Tom Wakeford said: “Under Thomas’s leadership, our Nottingham office has gone from strength to strength. He has been instrumental in establishing Stepnell as one of the leading contractors in the East Midlands with an excellent range of clients and consultants.

“This well-deserved promotion also recognises the superb all-round performance of the entire team in Nottingham and the high calibre of the schemes they have delivered. The office was our strongest performing region during the last financial year and is set to repeat that achievement this year.”

A Leicester company has announced the appointment of a new IT director as part of a strategy to expand its software as a service (SaaS) and client information systems (IS).

3T Logistics has appointed Simon Hughes to the post of IS director. His remit is to increase scalability and bring a more robust structure to the IT department and client IS services.

Hughes brings over 20 years’ experience working in information systems at a senior management level. He has worked in roles such as senior European IT director for Ralph Lauren where he led IT development and strategy and project managed major system change implementations. More recently he has been engaged at a senior level by US, European and Global companies developing and delivering IT strategic programmes and solutions.

Hughes “Companies like 3T are the future of transport management and offer the sophisticated technology that the industry desperately needs if it is to meet changing customer demand. They invest in the research and development that is critical to creating the fast and efficient supply chains that are key for most businesses. I very much look forward to playing a part in taking the company even further.”
