On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Northants frozen food distributor Central Foods has appointed an executive chef.

Paul Hunt will be showcasing products supplied by Central Foods and taking part in demonstrations and sampling sessions to help promote Central Foods’ range.

He will also assist the development of products and recipes for chefs, using items supplied by the frozen food distributor, which will prove popular in foodservice outlets – helping them to grow their restaurants, bar food and other catering and hospitality operations.

Hunt, aka The Skinny Chef, is a fully qualified chef who has undertaken recipe development work for key food manufacturers. He has also been responsible for putting food on the tables of high street restaurants and pub brands, as well as developing products for supermarkets in the UK and Europe.

Gordon Lauder, managing director at Central Foods, said: “Paul is extremely passionate about food and is an expert in his field. Not only does he speak the language of chefs, he also has a great insight into what customers want.”

Lincoln- and Nottingham-based Delta-Simons Environmental Consultants has welcomed four geo-environmental graduates to the company.

Ben Bradford is no stranger to the company having previously completed work experience with the company for the last two years. He is a Physical Geography graduate from the University of Hull, and will be working with Midlands team based in Lincoln.

Charlotte Foster is working within Southern team. She graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a BSc honours degree in Geography.

Harry Whittle is also working within the Southern team having graduated with his degree in Geology. Whittle was president of the University Students Union Geological Society, and had a short internship at a school teaching Geology, as well as an internship with the British Geological Society.

Liane Baiao gained her Batchelor’s degree in Geology at Derby, and has recently completed a thesis about the eroding peatland of the Peak District and its effect on water quality for her MSc in Environmental Geology and Contamination at Portsmouth University. She is based in Delta-Simons’ Manchester office with the Northern team.
