Nottingham bakery indie eyes new premises

A Nottingham independent bakery could move premises after being forced to close over spiralling rental costs.

Ugly Bread Bakery recently closed its venue on Pelham Street and now wants to move Carlton street in the city in unit that until recently was a newsagent.

Owner Jade Vendone also runs a second bakery and cafe in Nottingham on Market Street.

Last January, Vendone told TheBusinessDesk.com: “There is power in numbers in the Nottingham independents scene, and I don’t think it’s an overcrowded market at all. I think the great range of independent traders actually brings people into the city, and we all work together to push the city’s economy forward.”
